About Us
Plane Sense Inc. was originally founded as Sky
Sense Inc. in 1976 in Camp Springs Maryland. Dan Marnell, one of the original
founders has taken the school with him throughout the world while serving in
the U.S. Air Force, finally arriving in Georgia in 1991 after his retirement.
In 2004 Tom Nichols became Dan’s partner, bringing along his diverse business
talents and a passion for general aviation. New equipment was purchased and the
name was changed to Plane Sense, Inc.
Plane Sense, Inc. aircraft are brand new 2004 Alarus CH 2000’s,
the oldest having less than 1000 hours. Our goal is to update the fleet and
never have an aircraft with more than 1500 hours total time. This also insures
the fleet is equipped with the latest in Avionics available in general
aviation. The fleet is maintained by the factory or factory trained mechanics,
ensuring only the highest quality maintenance. This provides dependable
aircraft where safety is never in question. Our three main priorities are: Safety,
Reliability and Passenger Comfort.
Our personnel are carefully picked for experience and attitude.
We do not have Time Builders, our instructors will be
with the student from the first flight to the check ride. This provides a
continuity in training, which will also reduce training costs for the student.
Each training program is customized to the individual students needs, taking
into account their background, experience and skill. Our Chief Instructor has
over 11000 hours in the air with a wide background in all aspects of the
aviation industry.
In the two decades since it’s inception over two hundred pilots
have completed various pilot certifications and upgrades. While we are
certified to train for any certification or rating, we tend to focus on the
Private and Instrument ratings, the grass roots of aviation.
Plane Sense, Inc hopes to play a major part in fulfilling your
goals and ambitions in the aviation world. Thank you for choosing Plane Sense,
Inc. as your training partner.
